PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
ASTM 9260 carbon steel plate is a high carbon alloy spring steel, known for its excellent strength, toughness and fatigue resistance, suitable for critical components in high stress environments. The elasticity and durability of the material are optimized through precise proportions. After oil quenching and tempering, its tensile strength can reach 1600-1900 MPa while maintaining moderate ductility. It is particularly suitable for manufacturing heavy coil springs, automotive suspension systems and high-load parts in industrial equipment. During processing, the hot forming temperature (usually 870-925°C) must be controlled and slow cooling must be used to prevent cracking. Welding requires preheating and post-weld heat treatment to avoid embrittlement. The surface can be shot peened to further improve fatigue life, but it should be noted that carbon steel has inherently weak corrosion resistance and requires protective coating for long-term exposure to humid environments. The steel plate is supplied in hot-rolled state with a flexible thickness range and supports customized cutting. It is widely used in transportation, machinery manufacturing and energy fields to meet the stringent requirements of high strength and reliability.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
ASTM 9260 carbon steel plate is widely used in fields with strict requirements on material properties due to its high strength, excellent fatigue resistance and elastic recovery ability. In the transportation industry, it is the core material for manufacturing heavy-duty vehicle coil springs, automobile suspension system leaf springs and clutch springs, and can withstand frequent dynamic loads and impacts; in the industrial machinery field, it is often used for stamping dies, high-load shock absorbers, elastic support components of heavy machinery, and tool structures that require high wear resistance, such as hydraulic valve springs and safety valves in heavy equipment. In energy and power equipment, this material is used for generator set shock absorber springs, transformer clamping devices and key elastic components of high-voltage switch mechanisms to ensure the stability of equipment under long-term vibration. In addition, in agricultural machinery, rail transportation (such as railway truck buffer devices) and special equipment, ASTM 9260 steel plates are further extended by heat treatment and surface strengthening processes (such as shot peening) to extend the service life of parts under high-frequency cyclic stress. During processing, attention should be paid to the welding sensitivity caused by its high carbon characteristics, and it is usually necessary to cooperate with preheating and post-weld tempering processes to ensure the overall reliability of the application structure.
