 Product Description

Sgc440 galvanized steel coil is a commonly used building material with excellent corrosion resistance and strength. It is made of cold-rolled steel & hot-rolled steel after hot-dip galvanizing, and a layer of zinc is hot-dipped on the surface to protect the steel from oxidation and corrosion. Sgc440 galvanized steel coil is easy to cut, bend and weld, and can meet different processing needs.

 Surface Treatment

ELECTROGALVANIZING: Electrogalvanizing is to immerse the steel coil in an electrolyte containing zinc ions, reduce the zinc ions to zinc metal through the action of electric current, and deposit it on the surface of the steel coil to form a zinc layer. This process is suitable for thinner steel and can control the thickness and uniformity of the zinc layer. The advantages of electro galvanizing are low cost and simple operation, but the corrosion resistance and adhesion of the zinc layer are relatively poor.

HOT-DIP GALVANIZING: Hot-dip galvanizing is to immerse the steel coil in preheated molten zinc so that it reacts chemically with the steel surface to form a zinc-iron alloy layer and a pure zinc layer. This process is suitable for steel of various thicknesses and can provide good corrosion resistance and adhesion. The advantages of hot-dip galvanizing are that the zinc layer is uniform and dense, has high corrosion resistance, and is suitable for use in outdoor environments and harsh conditions.

 Product Process

• Coil preparation: First, cold rolled coils of the grade & thickness size required by customers are used as raw materials. The coils are degreased, cleaned and surface treated to ensure a clean surface and suitable roughness.

  
  

• Pickling: The coils are immersed in an acid solution, such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, to remove scale and rust on the steel surface, making the steel surface cleaner.

  
  

• Pretreatment: After pickling, the coils are washed and surface treated to remove residual acid solution and provide good surface roughness for subsequent galvanizing.

  
  

• Hot dip galvanizing: The pretreated coils are hot dipped in a zinc solution to react chemically with the steel surface to form a zinc-iron alloy layer and a pure zinc layer. Usually, the coils stay in molten zinc for some time to ensure the uniformity and integrity of the zinc layer. Hot dip galvanizing process

  
  

• Cooling and treatment: After hot dip galvanizing, the coils are cooled and treated, such as water cooling and film treatment, to stabilize the structure and properties of the zinc layer.

  
  

• Inspection and packaging: Finally, the galvanized coils are inspected for quality, including checking the thickness, adhesion, and appearance quality of the zinc layer. Qualified galvanized coils are packaged for easy transportation and storage.
